The Rijksakademie is one of the most prestigious post-academic art residencies in the world. Founded in 1870 by Royal Decree, it offers a 2-year residency to approximately 50 artists annually from 30+ countries. Each resident receives a private studio (50–100 sqm), a monthly living stipend, a production budget, access to exceptional workshops (woodworking, metalworking, ceramics, digital fabrication, photography), and twice-yearly studio visits from an international roster of advisors. Alumni include Marlene Dumas, Gabriel Orozco, and Fiona Tan.
