A living museum set inside a former thrift store in downtown Greensboro — a 15,000-square-foot collection amassed over 60 years. Artists make new work entirely from the museum's objects, and nothing leaves the building. The foundational residency runs about 27 days (a four-week arc of orientation, creation, a public workshop, and an opening); a focused two-week research residency is also offered. Residents live on-site in the artist-built boarding house, each with a private bedroom and shared bath. The annual application deadline is January 15.
