Beta-Local is an independent, artist-run organization in Old San Juan that serves as a nexus for Puerto Rico's contemporary art community. Their La Práctica program is a 6-month residency for 10 practitioners (artists, writers, curators, activists) that combines individual studio work with weekly group seminars, public programs, and deep engagement with Puerto Rican culture and politics. The program is particularly strong for socially engaged and research-based practices.
