McCahon House is the former home and studio of Colin McCahon, New Zealand's most celebrated painter, set in the native bush of Titirangi on Auckland's western edge. The residency hosts one artist at a time for 3-month stays in McCahon's beautifully preserved cottage and purpose-built studio. The combination of the bush setting, the history of the house, and the solitude creates a deeply contemplative residency experience. Accommodation, studio, and a stipend are provided by Creative New Zealand.
