Weir Farm National Historical Park is the only US National Park dedicated to American painting — the former home and studio of American Impressionist Julian Alden Weir. The Weir Farm Art Alliance runs a residency program on the grounds, hosting painters and visual artists for one-month residencies in restored historic structures with studio space and the National Park's 60-acre landscape as the working environment. Plein air and landscape work are common but not required; the residency is open to artists working in any visual medium with a serious practice that benefits from prolonged time in the landscape.
