Tylee Cottage Artist Residency

Tylee Cottage is a year-long artist residency attached to the Sarjeant Gallery in Whanganui, a small river city on New Zealand's North Island with an outsized arts community. The resident receives free use of a cottage and studio adjacent to the gallery, a stipend, and a solo exhibition at the Sarjeant at the end of the year. Whanganui's affordable living costs and strong Māori cultural presence make it a distinctive alternative to New Zealand's major cities.
