Founded in 1977 by sculptor and environmentalist Doris Leeper, Atlantic Center for the Arts is a multidisciplinary mentoring residency in a subtropical natural setting on Florida's east coast. Each three-week program brings together three master artists from different disciplines, each selecting up to eight associate artists. Associates pay an $800 residency fee plus $100 administration fee, but approximately 95% receive financial assistance. Facilities include painting, sculpture, digital media, dance, and music/recording studios plus a black box theatre. Three meals daily provided weekdays by the dining hall; private accommodations for all participants.
